We are co-sponsoring a service project trip with the BGC Student Ministries and Youth Works in July 2008. We are hosting two one-week service projects in the southern Mississippi area for high school students and their leaders. This is the area that was hard hit by Katrina.

NATIONAL SCHOOL OF LEADERSHIP (NSL) We are launching the National School of Leadership this fall. I want to encourage you to consider attending the NSL and bringing a team of leaders (youth and teen) with you. Many of you may have had a leadership course in college, but if you are like most people you've forgotten what you learned or didn't pay enough attention then to use it now! :-) But, not only can you profit from the NSL, you can learn how to develop leaders in your ministry as well.
The NSL is an excellent leadership training school designed by the BGC (now Converge Worldwide) for lay leadership development. It is designed for current and future leaders from 16 years of age up. It is a unique combination of schooling, homework, small groups and coaching. It is well worth the money.

FUSION Peer to peer ministry training for junior highers and their leaders - Coming Fall 2008.
PLANET WISDOM is returning to Chicago this fall but at a new location. The dates are October 17-18. The new location is the Evangelical Free Church in Naperville, IL. This year's theme is on Wisdom in Making Life's Decisions.
Strategically, I think Planet Wisdom is an excellent conference for helping students grow in their faith. Mark Matlock does a great job of communicating to teens. The Skit Guys are hilarious (assuming they will be there!). The worship is top-notch. (They have a new worship band this year. They were the back-up band at David Crowder's church.) I encourage you to think about this as a fall retreat weekend. Spend a couple of nights in a hotel. Use the teaching of the weekend as a springboard to talk to your students about their faith.
